AboutHi, I am Esteban Garcia Bravo, a visual artist and educator. I earned a BFA from Universidad de los Andes in Colombia in 2003, then an MFA from Purdue University, specializing in Electronic and time-based media. I got a PhD in Technology from Purdue in 2013. Currently, I am an Assistant Professor of Computer Graphics Technology at Purdue University. The classes I teach focus on diverse aspects of digital art. I investigate lost media artifacts from the history of Computer Graphics to understand the complexities of technological art. My art practice applies my research to new art formations of data-driven sculptures. I have exhibited my work internationally in exciting venues for media art such as SIGGRAPH Asia, Currents New Media Festival, and numerous solo and group shows in galleries and museums. |
